The Life & Ministry of Jesus II
This is a continued study, part two, of the life and ministry of Jesus first experienced by students in KINEO I. The course involves a deeper study of the Jewish Jesus and His role, influence, and leadership as a rabbi in ancient times. Dr. Michael Brown, author of The Real Kosher Jesus, said, “…a Jewish leader [Nicodemus] — a Pharisee at that — recognizes Jesus as a gifted teacher, a man sent from God, and he calls Him rabbi, a title by which He is addressed a total of thirteen times in the New Testament (along with being called a teacher many more times), and this leads us to a very important observation: we cannot understand who Jesus-Yeshua is unless we recognize Him as a first-century Jewish rabbi. I could cite a small mountain of books and articles penned by Jewish and Christian scholars that agree with this assessment.” This statement explains the importance in seeing Jesus in His Jewish setting, living and ministering as a rabbi, and understanding the Jewish culture in which He lived.

- to realize how Jesus ministered and moved about as a Jewish man committed to keeping the Laws of Moses
- to understand the teaching methods of Jesus as students understand the teaching methods of all rabbis in the time of Jesus
- to gain understanding of many comments made by Jesus by understanding how rabbis communicated in His day
- to gain a general understanding of Judaism in ancient times
- to experience the Bible coming alive, having gained greater understanding of its ancient, eastern, Jewish content
