Diploma & Degree Course
Foundational Doctrines
This course will survey basic Christian doctrines from a Pentecostal perspective. Special attention will be paid to key terms, concepts, and biblical texts. Students will gain confidence in their faith and in sharing their beliefs as they understand the doctrines they believe in are rooted in Scripture.
Goals & Objectives
To enable the student:
- to recognize the importance of doctrine, a very important part of the Word of God that should be understood
- be more prepared to “earnestly contend for the faith” — Jude 1:3-4; to train students to understand, articulate, and defend basic Christian truths
- to develop a Scriptural confidence in what the student believes
- to reach out with the Gospel to those who do not know Christ and be equipped to lead them to a saving knowledge of Him
- to be able to give an explanation for the hope found in Jesus Christ
- to be able to practice holy living — “Right living is a result of right believing.”
- to be able to recognize incorrect or erroneous doctrine
- to build the student’s faith because he/she knows and understands truth about God
