Transformational Church: Antioch
In this course, KINEO students will embark on a biblical journey that informs them about the history of the Church as it pertains to leadership, organization, and five-fold ministry. Jesus Christ left us blueprints for how the Church (and local churches) should be structured and led. Examining pertinent passages of Scripture, the student will complete the course with a greater awareness of the best possible structures and leadership paradigms that should be utilized in order to serve, lead, and minister in the Kingdom. With the majority of emphasis coming from the biblical passages, we will also be supplementing our course with the textbook, “The Apostolic Church Arising” by Chuck Pierce and Robert Heidler.
Goals & Objectives
KINEO students will witness from the Scriptures how the Church was conceived in the Upper Room of Acts 2, and then immediately outgrew its Apostles’ ability to provide adequate care and leadership. From that point, God began to impart wisdom for organized ministry, ultimately resulting in Jesus’ imparting and establishing of five-fold ministry for NT Church leadership. We will trace the growth of the Church and the multiple iterations of Kingdom life and ministry through the first hundred years of Church history. A primary emphasis will be placed on the structure and ministry of the Church of Antioch which serves as a healthy blueprint for churches to aim for in modern times. The overarching goal is for the student to learn how the bible portrays healthy Body-life, leadership, and ministry for local churches, and also to become equipped to help all local churches in the modern generation engage is necessary reformation so that we might move from man-made structures based in human wisdom, and embrace divine blueprints for churches as detailed in God’s written Word.
